When the last Aztec emperor, Cuauhtémoc, was about to fight his great battle against his twin brother, a powerful cry arose from the sky. A blinding light descended through the clouds. It was Huitzilopochtli, a god jealous of Cuauhtémoc’s thirst for blood and war. Within seconds, Huitzilopochtli turned Cuauhtémoc and all his soldiers, as well as his twin brother to stone, bringing their eternal war to an end and condemning them to remain stone for the rest of eternity.
